Crescent Reach - Learn Tinkering

Matrum Geerlok in Crescent Reach offers a quest to get your tinkering skill as high as 54, with no expense on your part except your time. This quest is only available to gnomes, of course, and is similar in some respects to the tinkering progressive quests from the Gates of Discord expansion.

You say, 'Hail, Matrum Geerlok'

Matrum Geerlok says, 'Oh Hello. So much [work] to do. Work work work. So many things to see. And just after I [improved] on Father's work. And to top it off, such strange [ideas] running through my head.

You say, 'work'

Matrum Geerlok says, 'Yes, so much work. Always a little of this and a little of that. And the money sorter that Skithnik wants. Simple. He wants simple! How insulting! But despite all that, if you help me I can give you a minor bit of [training].

You say, training

Matrum Geerlok says, 'The Circle of the Crystalwing have decided as a group that the best way to teach is by experience. You will be given a series of tasks that you can use to learn about the skill you are working on. When you are ready, simply tell me that you are [ready to start] and I will assign you a task appropriate for your skill.'

You say, ready to start

You have been assigned the task 'Simple Spring for Crescent Reach'.

20 Thin Steel Wire appear on your cursor

Matrum Geerlok says, 'Ah yes, this will be much help. Even if you think you cannot learn from this, you must do this. So much work to do. Take this. Follow the directions, and ask if you need more [supplies].'

Place one Thin Steel Wire in a Deluxe Toolbox and click combine.

You can no longer advance your skill from making this item.

You have learned the recipe Simple Spring!

You have fashioned the items together to create something new: Simple Spring.

Your task 'Simple Spring for Crescent Reach' has been updated.

Repeat until you have 20 Simple Springs. Tell Matrum [supplies] if you fail and need more Thin Steel Wire to complete 20 successful combines.

After completing Simple Spring for Crescent Reach, hail Matrum again.
