This is one of several new tradeskill quests originating in Abysmal Sea. For general information on these quests, please see the Gates of Discord Progressive Quests description.

The completion of this quest allows you to progress to a make poison skill as high as 54 without spending any money. Each step requires that you hand in enough completed items to progress to the next step. When you complete step four, you will be taught how to process Muramite Blood and Muramite Bile Sack. However, at this time there are no recipes that use the processed results, so this ability is not yet useful.

This version of the GoD make poison conversion quest requires you to provide muramite blood and/or muramite bile sacks. If you would rather not have to provide anything, try the Make Poison Freebie quest.

You start with Viliani I`Xvoyt, a poisonmaking vendor. As you begin the first step, she will also give you a book containing instructions on making some other Gates of Discord recipes.

Quick Summary:
NPC: Viliani I`Xvoyt in Abysmal Sea @ -211, 200, 98, in the hold
Uses: any standard mortar and pestle for poison making (Viliani offers the vendor-bought Mortar And Pestle)
Step 1: Simple Muramite Blood Contact Poison (trivial 31)
Step 2: Simple Muramite Blood Injected Poison (trivial 38)
Step 3: Simple Invader Blood Paralytic (trivial 17)
Step 4: Simple Invader Blood Atrophic (trivial 54)

You say, 'Hail, Viliani I`Xvoyt'

Viliani I`Xvoyt says 'Hail to you. I don't have a lot of free time. If you're going to stand around here and pretend you have something interesting to say, how about you let me put you to [work] instead. I know my ears would approve of the silence.'

You say, 'work?'

Viliani I`Xvoyt says 'There is plenty for you to do, even if you are almost completely incompetent. I only need you to do the simple things to allow me to work on things that are more worthwhile. I am collecting the contents of internal organs pulled from the Muramites. Killing them appears to be a difficult task, so their organs are hard to come by. The only one that we've been able to figure out at all seems to be a waste-product storage organ. I haven't seen one inside one of the creatures, so I can't confirm what function is serves for them, nor do I really care. We have decided to call that waste product, bile. The bile can be extremely toxic, even more so than some of the Muramite blood we've found. So, if you can do some [simple things] for me, I can investigate the [Muramite bile].'

You say, 'muramite bile'

Viliani I`Xvoyt says 'Muramite bile is a complicated substance. I have, however, discovered a way to extract the bile from the organs that hold it in such a way that it is not spoiled. It's interesting that the different races all have this dangerous bile. It appears that this organ is underdeveloped in many of these creatures, though. I suspect it has to do with their maturity. I believe that it develops much more slowly than the rest of their bodies. Only the older ones will have bile sacks. Bring me a bile sack and I will extract the bile for you and give it to you stored properly. I will keep a portion of the bile for my own research as payment for my efforts.'

You say, 'simple things?'

This response is currently bugged; Viliani replies with a line from Uiyaniv. What she "should" say is something to the effect of, 'give me a Muramite Blood Distillate and I will give you supplies. If you do enough work, I'll teach you how to process the muramite blood and bile. Since you are providing me with some materials, I will teach you sooner than Uiyaniv would.' What she actually says is:

Viliani I`Xvoyt says 'Tolerable. At least you are willing to try to prove yourself. Here is what I propose. I will have you complete many tedious and -- if I can manage it -- painful tasks. The result will mean that I have more free time to work on my own projects. In exchange, if you work hard enough, I will teach you the secret for distillation of the Muramite blood. Don't expect this to happen quickly. Your first task will be to create some simple universal suspension. Just take the simple thickener and a vial of Abysmal Sea water and combine them in your mortar and pestle. Return the suspension to me when you are done.'

Uiyaniv Tu`Vrozix is right next to Viliani. Give him a Muramite Blood and he will convert it into two Muramite Blood Distillate. You will need to do this every time you run out of distillate and need more for this quest. Uiyaniv also mentions Muramite Bile Sack. This is a more valuable version of the Muramite Blood, and conversion of it provides you with Muramite Bile. Unless you really have a lot of bile sacks or don't care to use or sell it, you should stick to using blood since it works just as well and is less valuable. If you do want to use the bile sacks, however, that works just the same wherever blood is mentioned here. In that case, Viliani can do that conversion for you.

STEP ONE: Simple Muramite Blood Contact Poison

Hand Viliani a Muramite Blood Distillate.

Viliani I`Xvoyt says 'It looks like you're ready to get started. Good. Take a small vial of Muramite blood distillate and Wayfarers Secret Suspension and combine them in your mortar and pestle to create a simple contact poison. The Muramite blood makes it pretty potent, so don't leave it lying around. Bring it right back to me when you're done.'

Viliani gives you enough materials to make 10 Simple Muramite Blood Contact Poison. Combine them in a mortar and pestle and turn in your successes unstacked. Repeat this process until you have handed in 40 Simple Muramite Blood Contact Poison. When you give Viliani the next Muramite Blood Distillate, she will move on to step two.

STEP TWO: Simple Muramite Blood Injected Poison

Viliani I`Xvoyt says 'There is plenty for you to do. Don't just stand around gawking. Take a small vial of Muramite blood distillate and Wayfarers secret anti-coagulant and combine them in your mortar and pestle. If you aren't a completely incompetent creature, you should be able to produce a reasonable quantity of simple Muramite blood-injected poison. Bring it to me when you're done.'

Viliani gives you enough materials to make 10 Simple Muramite Blood Injected Poison. Combine them in a mortar and pestle and turn in your successes unstacked. Repeat this process until you have handed in 30 Simple Muramite Blood Injected Poison. When you give Viliani the next Muramite Blood Distillate, she will move on to step three.

STEP THREE: Simple Invader Blood Paralytic

Viliani I`Xvoyt says 'There is no lack of work for you. Take this small vial of Muramite blood distillate and simple paralytic and combine them in your mortar and pestle. Don't screw it up and you'll be able to make some simple Muramite blood paralytic. Handy stuff when you don't want to kill someone, but you don't want them killing you either. Bring to me whatever you can make.'

Viliani gives you enough materials to make 10 Simple Invader Blood Paralytic. Combine them in a mortar and pestle and turn in your successes unstacked. Repeat this process until you have handed in 40 Simple Invader Blood Paralytic. When you give Viliani the next Muramite Blood Distillate, she will move on to step four.

STEP FOUR: Simple Invader Blood Atrophic

Viliani I`Xvoyt says 'Good. For now I am in need of some atrophic. Don't ask why, just combine a small vial of Muramite blood distillate and simple wasting poison in your mortar and pestle. Don't lick your fingers while working on this or you'll find yourself unable to beg for my help in the future. Bring me the atrophic when you have it finished.'

Viliani gives you enough materials to make 10 Simple Invader Blood Atrophic. Combine them in a mortar and pestle and turn in your successes unstacked. Repeat this process until you have handed in 30 Simple Invader Blood Atrophic. Give her one last Muramite Blood Distillate.

Viliani I`Xvoyt waves her hand at you. 'Take this back. I don't need your help any more. Go to Uiyaniv and he will reward you, I'm far too busy. Just tell him that I said you were [useful] to me. Now leave me to my work.'

Follow her instructions.

You say, 'I was useful'

Uiyaniv Tu`Vrozix smiles and nods to you. 'You have proven your worth. You need do no more tasks for us. You have done enough and your skills will be more useful elsewhere. Here is the secret we promised you.' Uiyaniv retrieves a thin piece of paper from his pocket. He tells you that it is a bit of the filter that he uses for distilling Muramite blood. He waves it suddenly under your nose. You can't help but flinch at the stench, which causes him to chuckle. You recognize the smell and are able to figure out exactly what he uses to distill the poison from the blood. Figuring out the process is easy now. You also know that you can teach yourself a more effective process with enough practice. Uiyaniv then continues, 'The same method will work for the material we have been calling Muramite bile, though that probably has less in common with what we know as bile.'

You now have the ability to turn Muramite Blood into Muramite Blood Distillate in a mortar and pestle, as well as Muramite Bile Sack into Muramite Bile. For more information on the conversion process see the main Gates of Discord Progressive Quests writeup.
